What our Knowledge & Support Officer, Elyse has been up to this January...
On the 1st of January, our Knowledge and Support Officer Elyse began her month of fundraising. This year she decided to run 5k every day, no matter what the weather, to raise money for Anthony Nolan.
Anthony Nolan is a pioneering charity that unites people and science to unlock the cures, treatments and transplants that will transform the future for those with blood cancer and blood disorders.
The reason for Elyse choosing to fundraise for Anthony Nolan was because in January 2022 Elyse's best friend Holly was diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL). Holly received a perfect match stem cell transplant later that year, but unfortunately, the leukaemia returned and nothing more could be done. Holly died in February 2023 aged just 34 and leaving behind her one and half year old son, Harry.
Despite the challenging weather, snowy pavements and muddy puddles Elyse has one more run to complete before reaching her target and we wish her all the best in smashing that goal!
